Ready, Set, Read Program Teaches
Generosity and Philanthropy
Summer 2010

YOUNG READERS REMEMBER LAURA SYPEK, RAISE FUNDS FOR SOUPY FOR LOOPY FOUNDATION in Summer, 2010.
Six young readers read 65 books from Laura’s Loft and collected $745 to help fight childhood cancer in memory of Laura A. Sypek in the 3rd Annual Ready, Set, Read fundraising program. For each book they read during the library’s 2010 Summer Reading Program, these children collected $1 per book from family members, friends and neighbors to benefit Soupy for Loopy Foundation. As a participant in this fundraising program, they received a complimentary Soupy for Loopy bookmark and a free kid’s ice cream cone compliments of JJ’s Soft Serve and More. They were also eligible for a Laura’s Loft weekly prize drawing in addition to the library’s weekly prize drawings. If they raised $100 or more and read all of the books they promised to read, they were eligible for a surprise drawing at the conclusion of the program … a $100 back-to-school shopping trip at Kohl’s Department Store. Congratulations. You’re the best!!!
